How to Clean Stainless Steel Appliances Naturally with Vinegar and Oil
This easy quick and easy cleaning method uses only two ingredients, which you probably already have in your kitchen anyway! Even better, each ingredient is natural, making this a safe and family-friendly cleaning solution.
Materials
- White vinegar
- Olive oil or another oil of your choice
- Spray bottle
- Microfiber cloth or other small cloth
Instructions
Step 1. Inspect. Much like wood, stainless steel has a grain. So, before you begin cleaning, it’s important to determine the direction of the grain on whatever appliance you’re cleaning. Take a close look at the appliance and check whether the grain runs vertically or horizontally. This is the direction in which you will clean the appliance.
Step 2. Spray. Next, remove any debris on the appliance that you’re cleaning. To do this, spray the appliance liberally with the white vinegar and use the microfiber cloth to wipe the vinegar off in the direction of the grain.
Step 3. Polish. Once any debris is gone, use the oil to restore the shine to your appliance. Dip the microfiber cloth into a small amount of oil (a little goes a long way!) and begin polishing the appliance with the oil and cloth in the direction of the grain. This should remove any unsightly marks and make the appliance shine like new!
